Born in Nara Prefecture, Japan, Fukumoto joined K-TEC Corporation, part of the Kawasaki Heavy Industries Group, in 1990 as a motorcycle designer.
From 2010 to 2020, he served as Head of the Design Department at the Technical Headquarters of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (now Kawasaki Motors).
With over 30 years of experience in vehicle design, he has been responsible for bringing numerous motorcycles to market. He is currently active as an illustrator, continually sharing the appeal of motorcycles.
